on Hempen Road . . .
The HempenRoad film project
A travel documentary film series about commercial hemp

It's a movie about a plant . . .

. . . culture, art, economics and environment converging in an independent, multi-media film.

"...and there's at least one moment that is downright poetic"
-- HempWorld magazine.

Filmmakers Eiji Masuda and Dave Olson

"This is as much a travelogue of the Pacific northwest as it is a hemp video. The opening credits, soundtrack and narration give a good idea of what is in store: a collage of images, sounds and ideas."
--Journal of the IHA

Director Eiji Masuda is living in Japan and his production company Space-Frog Multi-media has closed shop.

Producer Dave Olson wrote cover article "Hempen Culture in Japan" for Cannabis Culture magazine, issue 13, also published in Hemp Horizons by John Roulac.  Check out his recent explouits at www.uncleweed.net.

Sadly, Ian Hunter passed away in a lake.

"Cascadia Journey" was shot around the Pacific Northwest in winter 1996 when we visited many hemp entrepreneurs and activists. The video finishes up at the 1st Commercial Industrial Hemp Symposium in Vancouver where researchers and industrialists had their say along with a trade show and some controversy.
